Before and After

I grew up in an environment where people just come and go. Where love is 

expressed in a different manner and people speaks about it in a different definition. 

I grew up with no one to rely on but myself. So forgive me if I'm being too independent. 

I grew up knowing I have to be strong for myself and the people who are going through tougher things than me. But sometimes, they forgot that I'm just a little girl who wants to play with her pets and not have to carry the world. 

I grew up thinking that one day, things are gonna be easier when I'll be able to take care of certain things only grown-ups are eligible to. But when I'm older, they told me I'm not ready yet.

They expected me to know many things but they taught me none. 

They expected me to listen but none of those words are meant for children.

I was just a child, and I was forced to grow up. 

And when I eventually grew up, they treated me like a child.
